Should you link your Facebook and Twitter social media accounts? | Cork Chatter

While linking Facebook and Twitter accounts can seem like a smart time-saver, it’s actually a bad idea. Facebook fans and Twitter followers expect different styles of communication.

Twitter is a high-volume network for sharing quick snippets of up to 140 characters. Tweeting multiple times a day a good practice because it helps assure your posts aren’t lost in the fast-moving stream. Don’t worry about tweeting too much, but do space your tweets. And remember that social media is about two-way communication; you need to include some retweets and replies in the mix.

If you push those tweets to Facebook, you’re going to tick off some folks. That’s because communication on Facebook is more personal and people generally only post once per day, although they may comment on many other posts.
